Outdoor Leadership seniors taught the Intro to Wilderness freshman basic knots and climbing/rope safety and rescue skills yesterday at SUNY Potsdam. Skills included: the B.U.S. method of belaying, double fisherman's, half double fisherman's, clove hitch, daisy chain, Prusik, figure 8, and the figure 8 follow-through. The Wilderness Education program kindly donated their time and employees to help run different team building and leadership exercises (including 2 Parishville-Hopkinton alumni Nicholas Snell and Kelly Bloom), and our students were model representatives for the school.

We are excited to announce that our Boathouse Sports online store is now open and ready for JACKET orders! The store close date is 11:59 PM on December 12! These items make GREAT Christmas/holiday gifts as they are considered three-season jackets. This jacket is a 3 season item...so you will get LOTS of wear out of them during Soccer, Basketball/Hockey, and Soft/Baseball seasons!!. Jacket samples are available in the Student Success Services Office in the event you would like to try some on for sizing purposes. You may add a name (right breast), number (right sleeve) or up to three individual sports (left sleeve) at an extra cost. These options are offered on the online order form. Each jacket is $101.50 plus tax. There is also a $5 fee for us to get a bulk shipment to school. (Otherwise, individual shipping would be $14.95 for each jacket.) In order for this sale to move forward, we must have at least 10 jackets ordered and paid for by the deadline. Boathouse Sports apparel is custom-made in the USA! Please be sure to place your order(s) before the team store close date to ensure a quicker fulfillment of items for everyone. Once closed, the store will be placed into production. CLICK HERE to to our School Store https://2023parishville-hopkintonjacket.itemorder.com/shop/home/ This is not a fundraiser...simply an opportunity to spread school pride and unity! Please let Mrs. Cruikshank know if you have any questions.

Our 7/8th grade students visited Mt Vanhoevenberg today to watch the North American Cup Skeleton trials. Students have been working hard in Mrs. Whitmarsh’s social studies class this week studying the countries we saw today. Students learned simple greetings, what the flag of each country looks like and how their currency compares to ours. We are grateful for such an amazing experience!
